Malam
Juma'at
Kliwon

When figuring out what any particular day augurs, the Javanese combine the Muslim seven-day calendar with their pre-Islamic five-day calendar. Juma'at is the Muslim sabbath, and Kliwon is the holiest of the five Javanese days. When they fall on the same day (which happens several times a year), a particularly auspicious day is the result.

Malam Juma'at Kliwon means "Juma'at Kliwon Eve." As in the West, the night before a holy day is fraught with peril, so this night is Halloween Meets Friday the 13th (complete with appropriately titled horror movies).
